Terms & Conditions (a more detailed document is provided in the session)
I operate a sliding scale for fees based on the individual's circumstances. Minimum fee is £75.00 for individual's for a usual 50 minute session. People on a higher salary can expect to pay more. For couples £200.00 - £250.00 for a 90 minute session. Some concessions are available. They are payable at the end of each session by cash or cheque or monthly in advance.
I ask for payment (cheque or cash) to be made at each session unless other arrangements have been made in advance.
Sessions last 50 minutes and are usually on a weekly basis and occasionally twice weekly, if required - usually at the same time and place. Unless other arrangements have been made
Please arrive on time. Consistent lateness will be questioned. Time will not usually be made up for late arrivals.
Regular attendance to the sessions is also important because it shows commitment to the work and to yourself. Consistency enables you to understand, learn, heal and integrate a new way of being.
Cancellation/ Session Change Policy
7 days notice is needed for any date/time changes or cancellations. Otherwise the full fee is usually charged. There is some flexibility in the event of an emergency.
I do not charge if I am away or forced to cancel.
Holidays are important too. A few weeks each year is usually very beneficial. I also take a few weeks holiday each year. When booking holidays, a minimum of 7 days notice is required.
Please ensure that you are in a quiet and confidential setting as if you are physically in the room with myself, without distractions. My clinic is operated from the UK and governed by those jurisdictions. Overseas clients use the service at their own initiative and risk. As you are aware no technological service is 100% secure, however I take necessary precautions to ensure that my system is protected and confidentiality maintained.
4 sessions notice is required before ending longer-term therapy.
Short term counselling can be mutually agreed for varying times, i.e. 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months and so on. This can be renewed as often as required.
Sessions vary during the week. The earliest starts at 8am and the latest 8.30pm –Monday - Thursday. Emergency sessions can be booked throughout the week – Mon - to Thurs dependent on availability.
My usual contactable office hours are Mon-Thurs - 8am - 6pm. However, there will be an answerphone at all times. Email/Text messages also follow the same hours.
GDPR - Confidentiality and Ethics
The General Data Protection (GDPR) is EU wide and more extensive than the Data Protection Act.
The personal data I collect will be used for psychotherapeutic purposes.
My legal basis for processing the personal data is to track your treatment plan and ensure that progress is being made.
The data is always held securely and not shared with anyone not involved in your treatment plan. The work I conduct is confidential. As a therapist I have a duty of care which I take seriously and in exceptional cases (i.e. if a client reveals intent to cause harm to self/others) I may find it necessary to take this information outside of the session. Any action is discussed with the client first. My therapeutic work is undertaken in accordance with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
By consenting to working together you are giving me permission to process your personal data for psychotherapeutic purposes as named above.
You may withdraw consent at any time by making a written request.
Records are kept up to a maximum of 7 years.
As therapy is based on privacy and confidentiality - I do not engage with clients (including past) socially or on any social media platforms.
I will cover this again in the first session and happy to clarify any further questions.
I also work with insurance companies including BUPA.
